Coinbase will have a Cryptocurrency community event in Bangalore, India, on April 7 to discuss the blockchain and Web3 despite the country’s stringent rules.
The platform has also announced that it will host a startup pitch on April 8 in collaboration with Builders Tribe, with an invite to startups.
The news comes amid what the industry experts have called heavy-handed crypto regulations in India. The country recently adopted a cryptocurrency taxation policy.
Coinbase has remained upbeat about the Indian market with its technology hub launched in 2021 seen as an opportunity to tap into the software talent in the Asian nation.
Coinbase Ventures has put $150 million into India-based technology firms operating in the Web3 space to assist the businesses to scale. Some of the crypto unicorns that have benefited from the fund include CoinDCX and CoinSwitch Kuber.
