AMC Entertainment now allows ticket payments using Bitcoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Ethereum across its theatres.
The company CEO Adam Aron announced that Dogecoin was the next cryptocurrency to be included. Aron has earlier hinted at including Shiba Inu after the meme token gained popularity.
AMC allowed the use of various cryptocurrencies, including Dogecoin, to purchase electronic gift cards in October. The company announced the initial plan to start accepting Bitcoin in August.
Customers can also pay for AMC services using Apple Pay, PayPal, and Google Pay, which the CEO says already accounts for 14% of their payments. The options are supported on the company’s mobile application and website.
The company’s shares have not reacted to the news, with its stocks falling 17% in the week. The latest regulatory filing shows that Adam Aron offloaded $25 million of his shareholding.
