What is Reserve Rights Token?

Reserve Rights Token is a cryptocurrency on Reserve Protocol for enhancing the stability of the Reserve tokens. Reserve protocol is a platform that aggregates tokenized assets to create a decentralized stablecoin. The token is an ERC-standardized asset used in insuring Reserve stablecoins through staking and governing them in a voting mechanism.

Based on the Ethereum blockchain, Reserve Rights are secured through the proof-of-work consensus model, which is transitioning to the proof-of-stake model. Reserve stablecoin differentiates itself by getting a backing from a basket of cryptocurrencies managed through a smart contract. The platform enables users to permissionlessly create new Reserve stablecoin through smart contracts.

There are currently 14.80 billion circulating RSR tokens from a total supply of 100 billion and a matching hard cap. The initial tokens supply was 6.85 billion tokens, where 3% went to Huobi Prime IEO participants, 2.85% to project tokens, and 1% to private investors.

RSR token holders can stake to one RToken or can opt to divide their RSR tokens by staking on various RTokens. The token stakers are eligible to receive part of the gains made by the RToken they choose to stake into. Reserve Rights token debuted in May 2019 after an initial exchange offering on Huobi Prime protocol. Reserve was created by founders Nevin Freeman and Matt Elder.
